Nominated for Best Producer and Best Performer in Arizona!

I would like to take a moment to humbly thank everyone that nominated me for AZ Best Producer and AZ Best Performer for the 2020 Strippy Awards. Being nominated alongside so many other fabulous producers and performers with so much talent and enthusiasm for the art of burlesque is quite an honor!

But, my nominations aren’t a singular achievement. I am gratefully fortunate to produce in conduction with First Fridays at Surly Wench Pub (nominated for Best AZ Burlesque Production), and hosting my shows is none other than Stephka VonSnatch (nominated for Best AZ Burlesque Emcee). I also have to give huge credit to my behind-the-scenes production assistant (who likes to be anonymous) Jacob Jakerson, and of course I couldn’t put on a show without all the amazingly, beautifully talented performers that I am so blessed to work with and be inspired by. AND, our audience! Tucson LOVES burlesque, and they know good burlesque because there are so many really good shows happening right here in The Old Pueblo and Southern Arizona! So, what’s new? Here’s a few highlights!

Goodness I haven't posted in so long, but I’ve been busy busy busy these past few months on all sorts of sparkly and fantastic things! One of them was making my “dream burlesque act” come to life! I knew what I wanted… No, needed - an act that was completely over the top in every way! It took a decade to finally pull together. Seriously! Maybe longer if you count my father fans… Anyhow, the headdress is made from feathers purchased 10 years ago, the dress was purchased over 3 years ago and altered to add the mermaid skirt about a year and a half ago. I then spent the last two months before April’s performance on the gloves and other details. Oh and I fell in love with the music 3 years ago, which I edited last summer! I love it when a plan comes together… Finally! The show is Bunny Boom Boom’s What’s Burlesk - Las Vegas Edition, at Surly Wench Pub and the photos are by Rick Bracht.

Here’s my Safe Cracker act in Trixie Phillips' Dangerous Temptresses - Sirens of Burlesque at Surly Wench Pub, screen capture from video by Justin Flicks. I made that safe myself! It can be disassembled for travel, which came in handy for when I took it to The Texas Burlesque Festival and The Southwest Burlesque Showcase several years ago.

A group of some of my favorite Tucson ladies and I traveled to Tombstone to perform in my dear friend Contessa Oblivian’s show, Soiled Doves! We always have too much fun performing our “Two Birds” act!

Rock n' Rumble

Last Friday night's show was the “Rumble” that rocked 4th Avenue! Huge thanks to everyone that came to our Rumble show at Surly Wench Pub - Bestest audience ever!!! Jacob and I couldn’t be more proud of a show! I would like to give heartfelt thanks to everyone that helped make this show so much fun, starting with our performers:  KittenMinx LaFemme, Bunny Boom Boom, Raisin Wood, Natasha Noir, Taryn Garters, Nikki Riot, Trixie Phillips, Lela Rose, and Contessa Oblivian for absolutely knocking it out of the park with such creative and enthralling acts, our fabulous host Stephka Von Snatch for entertaining us with her uniquely keen witted humor, our Stage Wench Greta Von Grimm for stylishly and efficiently keeping our stage tidy, Cord Boyd - our sound and light wizard, Surly Wench Pub and their awesome staff, Glen AZ - our videographer (and for coming here from Phoenix!), our photographer Rick Bracht and of course our AMAZING band The Furys, who rocked and rumbled all night long!!! And, I would especially like to thank Jacob Hacker for all of his hard work, support, and encouragement throughout our production process. How cool is this?!?!? What a surprise - I’ve been nominated for not one, but TWO categories in The Strippys! Enough of you lovely people cast votes for me as producer of Retrolesque Shows, and also Best Performer for me to make it into the finals! I’m so very excited to be included along with the other amazing finalists, thank you Tucson! The opportunity to produce as a part of First Fridays Burlesque at Surly Wench Pub, with the inimitable Stephka Von Snatch hosting is only part of the whole glittery picture. I couldn’t put on great shows without all the phenomenal performers! Goodness I’m so grateful to have so many talented burlesque artists in my shows! And there are a two other nominations in other categories that I proudly associate with: First Fridays at The Surly Wench for AZ Burlesque Production, and Stephka Von Snatch for AZ Burlesque Emcee.
